I’ve got big hands and simply couldn’t type on the majority of netbooks out there. I wanted to love my Asus but there were a lot of issues and the keyboard was a deal breaker… absolute junk. I have a XPS 1640 as my main laptop so I did some reading and thought I’d give this one a try. It’s not that attractive but I needed function over form. This little guy delivers on every level. I upgraded it to Win7 AFTER I added RAM. I installed Office 2010, chrome, Nortel VPN for work and Sprint Air Card software. I love the fact it has 3 USB ports. I’m getting about 5 solid hours out of the battery and I don’t do any every saving nonsense – I often do the opposite. I will mention the battery takes forever to charge if you are on it. (so did my Asus though) The aesthetics will grow on you.

This was my first big purchase online and I am so happy I went through Amazon.com.I bought this mini 10 refurbished and was abit worried as I had read other reports about refurbished laptops.But with Amazon and a trusted seller I felt I was ok.I am so happy with my Dell mini 10,it does so much,the keystroke is good for me the OS is ok I will be replacing it with Win 7-home edition not the one that came with the lappie.
Dell has contacted me whenever I have a question about my mini 10 promptly. I am very pleased with my computer and with Amazon.I have purchased a DVD/CD burner and I am able to watch movies and can burn my pictures to CD every easily with my Dell mini 10. This has been a very good experience and I will buy a bigger Dell laptop when the time comes. Thank you
A super powerful mini – anji –
I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about this laptop, but I got it, and I LOVE it. I love it even more than my dell 1420. I got it in Jade green, with a fan pad, wireless mouse, and 2gb of ram (240g). Its an amazing machine, and even if you get it with the standard 1gb, it still works amazingly well, and not nearly as slow as people are accusing it of. The screen is awesome, and doesn’t smudge, as long as you use a wireless mouse, its perfectly fast and responsive. I was told they heat up, but even without my cooling pad it doesn’t run any warmer than any other notebook.
I’m exceedingly happy with my purchase, though Dell annoyed me the least bit as they messed my order up . . . twice.

Aside from having some buyer’s regret because the price of this item has dropped about 0 since I bought it eight months ago, I have to concede that I like this netbook a lot. I have two full size pc’s (a Mac Airbook and a Sony Vaio), but bought this because I needed something small and convenient to take with me on the road as I am not totally enchanted with my Iphone. For the most part, I use this to respond to emails, surf the net,store photos, and access files. It fits into my purse, weighs maybe 2 lbs, boots up quickly, and the 6v battery give me a lot of time (approx. 7-8 hours)on one charge. It even has a camera, but other than initially testing it out I don’t use it. The keyboard is scaled down, but easy to use and easy to get used to. I can’t comment on Dell phone support because any questions I’ve had have been answered via the online tutorial.
While this clearly doesn’t do everything that a full feature laptop does(no built in cd/rom for starters), I need a pretty basic machine on my travels and am not fussy. I doubt if this would be adequate to support some business applications, but for the casual pc user who doesn’t want to lug around a clumsy and/or heavy pc this is a pretty cool substitute.
I have accessorized this with a keyboard cover which does a great job keeping debris where it belongs, a netbook sleeve, and a chill pad.
The netbook is a good substitute for a pc when you don’t require a workhorse.

I have been using my new dell mini for over a month now and I absolutely love it! It does everything I need it to do and I can take it with me wherever I go! I can store photos, surf, shop, talk to friends, whatever! It is great!
My only issue is that it only comes with Windows 7 starter. I have to buy the full version. But that is minor compared to what it does. And Amazon has the best price!
